The Poor Get The Shaft... Again

A report released just the other day reports that the poor people of the world are the most ill equip to handle the effects of climate change. So let me get this straight, while the poor people of the world are the ones who emit the least greenhouse gases, they are the ones who will be potentially destroyed by the coming effects of climate change. So while the richest countries of the world sit on their hands and watch rising greenhouse levels things are only going to get worse for these poor people around the world that can really do nothing to stop climate change... A sad world we live in indeed.

For those of you who missed it Australia just signed the Kyoto protocol leaving The United States as the only country left that hasn't yet sign-up. And I quote...

"The challenges of climate change are big, and serious. The next step is to reach agreement in Bali on a negotiating roadmap for a new post-2012 framework. We look forward to continuing to work together constructively with Australia, as we have in APEC, the Asia Pacific Partnership, and the Major Economies process," said Kristen Hellmer with the White House Council on Environmental Quality.

WTF? Why are we concentrating on post 2012? We need to be concentrating on right now... this is just typical BS from this administration who has failed us at every environmental turn...

Greenland Is Turning Green

Something when you hear it from the horses mouth things become a little more clear. These fellow Greenlanders have been witnessing the accelerating effects of climate change and how it is altering the landscape in Greenland dramatically. New studies have found that Greenland is melting much faster than previously thought and as this video shows the effects are quite obvious...

Action Need To Be Taken Now For The Sake Of Our Children

"Treat the earth well: it was not given to you by your parents, it was loaned to you by your children. We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children"

Blog Action Day Arrives

Just in case you haven't heard yet, today is Blog Action Day. This day was designed to spread the word about climate change and it's devastating effects. If you would like to participate click here to visit their website.

If you have been following this blog you know that there is already overwhelming evidence that climate change is being caused by humans, yet no real action is taken here in the states on a federal level. I only hope that our next president will have a little more going on upstairs instead of change jiggling in his pocket from his oil company kickbacks...

With more and more people getting behind this movement maybe we can actually make a change before George W. Bush is out of office, but the way our government moves like a snail I kinda doubt anything will be done... sad really, but who know maybe I will be pleasantly surprised and our planet won't be doomed, but as more and more time passes I fear we have already passed the tipping point.

Climate Change In Australia

As you are about the see the effects of climate change are already being felt to a large degree in Australia. In fact this years mean temperature is the highest ever recorded! These droughts will cause increased risk of wildfires and will cause major problems for farmers in Australia...

It is videos like this that are very disturbing to watch... it seems like just last year all we were hearing about here in the states was all the coming effects of climate change and the horrible things that could happen down the road. Well guess what these things are already happening and if major action isn't taken soon things are only going to get worse...

The Effects Of Climate Change In Siberia

This video from Russia Today discusses some of the effect that are already being felt in Siberia. As some of you might know the permafrost that is under the ground in places like Siberia is actually melting! Unfortunately this will act as a snowball effect, as the permafrost melts, not only is it destabilizing all the land around it, it is also releasing methane and other greenhouse gases that have been trapped in the ground. For more on the effect click here!

More Climate Change News From The Arctic

In 2007 the Arctic is seeing it's most significant ice loss in 30 years. This footage provided by CBS shows us just how bad things are getting in our great north...

Climate Change In The Arctic

Some people might not understand that the arctic is actually warming twice as faster as most other areas on the planet. So while you might not be feeling the effects of climate change in your area it is only a matter of time. This footage provided by the BBC shows an amazing 10 mile long ice block that just split off of the main arctic ice pack... the most significant change to the arctic for decades!

What do you think is this just a cycle of nature?

The European Union's View On Climate Change

Sad to see nations doing so much to combat climate change and then to gaze on The United States and see one of the few countries that did not sign the Kyoto Protocol. The United States also has some of the worst fuel efficiency standards in the world! We are certainly not setting a very good example for the rest of the world, but climate change will never effect Americans right? Go ahead switch the station, but climate change isn't going anywhere and is only going to get worse if immediate action isn't taken in ever nation...

Record Heat In The United States

While floods ravage Texas much of Arizona, Nevada and many other places across The United State are breaking heat records. Droughts bring the threats of wildfires to many areas and it is only July!

This is just another snowballing effect of climate change. The more heat the more people will blast there air conditioners and use more energy. What is your solution to this growing problem?

You can read more about this heat wave here and here!

Feel The Effects Of Climate Change?

This video shows us some of the effects that are already be felt all around the world due to climate change. Australia, Europe and The Western United States have all had major droughts the past few summers and things only seems to be getting worse.

The time for action is now...

How Much Of Greenland Ice Self Will Melt This Summer?

With more and more coverage of global climate change, it is becoming blatantly obvious that some drastic measures need to be taken today to avoid serious consequences in the future. This report from CNN shows us some of the research that is taking place in Greenland... If we lose all of the ice self in Greenland oceans will rise an average of 20' around the world! With more and more of the ice self disappearing every year I am sure glad I don't live on the coastline...

Is God Going To Save Us From Climate Change?

Well, I think not... in fact personally I think if he/she/it saw us messing up the planet the way that we are, why would he/she/it even care what happens to the human race? They gave us this beautiful planet and we have done nothing but plunder it's resources since the industrial revolution... Sure our grandparents and parents got us into this mess, but it is up to our generation to come up with real solutions to these global problems....

The video below is an interesting look at what the Evangelical Christian think about climate change... I think it is actually quite funny that there are still some people out there that believe this is some kind of political conspiracy. Why would there be some massive GLOBAL conspiracy? Pull your head out of the sand and do a little scientific research!

This is not just an issue in the USA it is happening all over the world and people are talking about it all over the world! These people are not republicans and democrats, they are simply humans that give a damn about our future generations!

Find out why some of us are so ignorant to the facts here or you can find out why the American government is a big part of the problem here!

US Miltary Says We Should Plan For Climate Change

The following is an interesting view on climate change through the eyes of a few retired 4 and 5 star generals... it will be largely up to The United States to come to the aid of the areas that we be hit the hardest by this radical weather such as major flooding and droughts.

It is good to see that at least we are beginning to prepare for some of the dire consequences that seem to be getting closer and closer everyday...

The Impacts Of Climate Change In Our World

This video shows some of the changes that are already starting to happen in places like Africa, Asia and The Western United States. It would appear that drastic steps need to be taken to try and curb climate change or we could face some nasty consequences. The effects are being felt all over the world and things are only going to get worse if nothing is done...

This next clip shows us the beautiful O'Higgins Glacier in Chile, it is one of the faster retreating glaciers in the world! I think a lot of people aren't taking into consideration the fact that many countries throughout the world get much of their drinking water from glacier runoffs. This will bring up a huge problem as studies have shown that a whopping 90% of the world's glaciers are retreating!

Betting On Our Childrens Future With A Bad Hand

What do you think causes Climate Change AKA Global Warming? Whether you think it is partially caused by humans like most scientists, or if you just believe that it is a natural cycle of the sun, our climate is changing, and we need to prepare for the consequences now.

If temperatures continue to rise polar ice caps and glaciers around the world will continue to melt and sea levels will rise. This will drive people and even entire cities to higher ground and cause wide spread famine and disease throughout the world as farmland and crops disappear as well. Many species will become extinct as they cannot adapt quickly enough to the rapid changes, drought and forest fires will increase and storms will strengthen as our oceans warm along with the overall temperatures. These things will happen if this trend in temperature continues... so whether or not you believe in Global Warming don't you think you should still be concerned about our future generations?

Want more? Check out how our government lies right to our face... and again here! Demand change from our federal government! Certain states like California are leading the charge, but it is up to us as individuals to make enough noise...

For more about the changes happening on our planet right now check out these facts or this bit of news.

Why Are We So Ignorant To The Facts?

Tell the people in Europe that climate change isn't happening... they recently had the hottest summer on record that killed 26,000 people over a period of two months. The winter of 2007 was also the warmest on record around the entire world, hmm must be some kind of coincidence, or some giant scientific conspiracy right?

Tell the people in LA that we are not causing any problems to our atmosphere, that is if you can see through the smog. Watch the melting glaciers retreat back farther and farther every year and the sea levels begin to rise as a result...

Wake up people, the science and the proof is there that humans are changing our planet whether you believe it or not. The climates throughout the world will change whether you like it or not.

The saddest part is that our government is trying to hide the facts from us. Why would they encourage scientists to remove the words "climate change" and "global warming" from their official reports? From what I remember our government is not run by a bunch of scientists so why would they do such a thing... could it be the big bad oil and coal industries and all the connection to our current administration... you make the decision. If you need help connecting the dots check this out!

Watch the video below for a little background info and let you voice be heard, if not for you, for our future generations!

The Best Documentary Since The Inconvenient Truth

An indepth look at climate change and the effects it is already having on our world. This documentary is very nicely done, great quality, and quite informative for those of you intested in finding out more about the rapid changes occuring here on planet earth and what can been done.

This video is about an hour long though so be prepared... and please spread this video to as many people as you can before it is pulled from google video.

Can We Afford To Take The Chance?

It is strange to see so many people still trying to debunk climate change. I mean even if it isn't 100% cause by man shouldn't we still be concerned. Our planet is warming, and that is a fact that no one disputes. There have been more droughts and wildfires... storms have been increasing in intensity, the worlds sea levels will rise if Greenland, the polar ice caps and other glaciers around the world melt. These are the facts, and whether or not it is completely caused by humans should not be what we are focusing on here... we need to begin to develop solutions and fast, I guess I just don't know why this debate is being clouded so much, I mean it really sounds like something everyone should take seriously for our future generations... Watch the next video and you will begin to see some of the major problems that are arising in our ecosystem due to climate change.

Demand Change From Our Government

With the recent release of the climate report stating that "global warming" is in fact happening and humans are the cause, it is very good to see all of the press that "climate change" is now finally receiving, but will this last? We need to make sure that United States government actually does something about it... It is no secret that we are the #1 producer of greenhouse gases and have the worst environmental policies when it comes to fuel efficiencies standards. We have a President who is an "oil man" himself, and has been caught misleading the American public about climate change... so really what can we do? It is actually quite simple, demand change from our government and do your part... you would be amazed at the power of the people!

Climate Change Causes Greenland To Form New Islands

The evidence is right there in front of us that the world is changing at a dramatic place. This video is shot in Greenland and actually shows how a chunk of the mainland actually broke off and is now an island... simply amazing footage.

This next video shows us what is going to happen if this type of melting continues.

Top Ten Global Warming Stories Of 2006

Great piece from the weather channel showing the top stories of 2006 from rising gas prices to increasing envolvment of religous groups to the white house censoring climate information.

Just imagine if we would have had a hurricane or two come thru the gulf coast again what gas prices would have been like $5 a gallon? $6 a gallon? Remember even though we did not have any hurricane come our way in the USA we did have a record number of tornados!

Yet it just seems like piece after piece like this comes out and still nothing is really done here in the USA... sad really.

If you still need more proof check out the effect of climate change in these places... Patagonia, Greenland, Mount Kilimanjaro, the Amazon, even here in America!
