Global Warming 20 Years In Perspective

Some people are just ahead of the curve I guess, this clip shows NASA's climatologist Jim Hansen and looks back at his testimony from 20 years ago.

This wasn't the last time Jim Hansen testified, take a look at these sets of videos, that show us how the Bush Administration among others have been misleading the public when it comes to climate change.

I know it is dry stuff, but unfortunately these people are the ones that make the policies, which means these are the people we need to force to make serious changes...

  1. Don't buy into the hype. Global warming is a good thing! It is a natural cycle. Don't believe everything Al Gore and his friends want you to believe. They are just trying to guilt you into buying their products!

  2. Um... What "products" are they selling?

  4. "100 percent of the profits from the book and the movie [will go] to a new bipartisan educational campaign to further spread the message about global warming."

Al Gore didn't make a dime from the movie...

What you don't think America and the world should develop alternative energies either I suppose, because companies might turn a profit! What a joke... I hope your children will forgive your ignorance...

  5. you really think Al Gore didn't make a dime for his movie? You don't think he makes any money from all of the publicity it brought him. All of his speaking engagements, nobel price, etc.

I am in no way against developing alternative forms of energy. I support companies making profits... I am 100% for capitalism. What I am not for are companies making you feel like you are making mother earth cry because you don't buy their products.

Oh yeah, and my daughter said she forgives me.

  6. Who cares if Al Gore made a dime from the movie? I am sure he had enough money to begin with...

I can see you are one of those people who has something against Al Gore for whatever reason and therefore just assumes climate change doesn't exist... Who cares what Al Gore thinks, says, makes...

Do some research, look up the IPCC, look up the glaciers that are melting all around the world. Look up the droughts that have devastated places like Australia! You know they were one of the only holdouts besides the United States that didn't sign the Kyoto Protocol, but after the massive drought that they had they thoughts twice about our world we live in.

Climate change is not something that Al Gore just made up... Climate scientist around the world have been studying it for years! I guess I could take your word or the words of scientists around the world.... Hmmm I will have to think about that one for awhile.

I am glad to hear your daughter forgives you, but can you afford to be wrong? Even if this whole climate change thing is just some myth that scientists made up around the world for.... uh... some reason...

Wouldn't the world be a better place if we cleaned up the environment and developed alternative energies... Maybe you are one of those people that like smog and record energy prices, but I am not. Chew on that for a while....

  7. I am not against the envirmonment. I think we should be good stewards of what we have. But, I am against companies making you feel guilty for not buying their $5,000 washing machine that saves the world when a $500 one will wash my clothes just fine. I do not disagree that the planet is warming... I embrace this natural cycle the earth is going through. More good than bad will come from global warming. If you want a good website to read about the hype check out http://www.globalwarminghype.com/

  8. So let me get this straight you think that all the carbon and other greenhouse gases in the air have no effect on the climate? You think that we can just continue burning fossil fuels at will... have you ever been to LA?

Who cares about the laundry machine... if it cost more, but is more energy efficent it will save you money in the end and will help reduce the world's energy needs, sounds like a win-win to me.

A laundry machine isn't going to make the difference that we need anyways, we need direct government action to help curb our emissions before we destroy ourselves... and you know it won't be The United States that is suffering the most, it will be the poor that cannot defend themselves from climate change.

This is be no means a natural cycle... and even a website like the one you sent me that pops up Al Gore's voice will be able to change the facts....
